PPP election defeat was due to national, international conspiracies: President Zardari

LAHORE: President Asif Ali Zardari has claimed that conspiracies being hatched by national and international institutions were the reason for the election defeat of the Pakistan Peoples Party.
The president met PPP ticket holders from Punjab on Monday and said the party would play the role of opposition with fill vigor. Yousuf Raza Gilani, Manzoor Watoo were among those who called on the president at the Bilawal House in Lahore. “PPP could have won 40-45 seats in Punjab,” President Zardari said.
According to Zardari he could not take part in election campaigning due to restrictions placed on the office of president. “I will take active part in politics after my presidential tenure expires.”
The president added that all three of children will be active in politics.
